These new courses are planned for introduction in July 2014 and represnt an exciting opportunity to study in a specific maritime related discipline while acquiring the unique management perspective offered by an industry-focussed Master of Business Administration (MBA) program.

Each specialisation is designed to equip graduates with the skills needed to undertake senior management roles within the maritime sector, where technical and operational expertise is combined with strategic decision-making. These proposed courses will combine management and specialised studies in one of the following areas:

Marine Environment and Management
Maritime Technology and Management
Shipping and Maritime Management

Prerequisite: 

The TSBE may accept as a candidate for the Master of Business Administration (Specialisation) any of the following: 

  1. A person who has completed an undergraduate degree of an Australian higher education institution or the equivalent standard in any other institution, 
  2. A person who has satisfactorily completed the Graduate Certificate in Management or Master of Business Administration of the University of Tasmania or equivalent awards of another Australian higher education institution.
