The Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA)’s Hong Kong office held its Annual Dinner, the largest annual event, on 17th May. Officiated by Myriam Madden, President of CIMA. This year’s annual dinner was branded under CGMA (Chartered Global Management Accountant) for the first time. AICPA members were invited to attend. Nearly 200 CGMAs, top CIMA exam winners, and senior contacts from the government, regulators, professional bodies, businesses and academia spent a joyous evening to celebrate the achievements over the past year as well as the successes of the year to come.
The Director of Accounting Services of the Treasury of Hong Kong, the CEO of Financial Reporting Council of Hong Kong, as well as the President and the Chief Executive of Hong Kong Institute of CPAs, were among the guests.
The evening began with speeches by Ms. Gogo, Chairlady of CIMA Hong Kong. She highlighted CIMA’s groundbreaking achievements in the past year and shared ambitions for the future. And Myriam shared the proposal of creating the new Association with AICPA and CIMA’s vision for management accounting. She encouraged members to endorse the Association. This was followed by the presentation of awards to eight employers which embed CIMA into their talent programmes. Certificates were then presented to top exam winners.
